An important decision has been made today about the future of the team.
The original idea at the start of this season was to win the Gevelsberg GP, an 8th Division Classic, at the start of season 21. Things had been moving along quite well, Salamando has been racking up the results and two youngish riders have been signed: Stefanus "The Flying Dutchman" Kruijs and Xavier "Captain America" Rowe.
Unfortunately, Kruijs crashed during a race in the United Arab Emirates. It was his first race as a leadout sprinter to complement his training program. It was unfortunate, but Salamando still got a fourth place that meant that the team was promoted to the 7th Division.
This made us realize that there's no time like the present. We're ditching the Gevelsberg GP and aiming to keep racking up the wins, training Stefanus into the next winner of Fast on Wheels and getting the Cap' into the Hour Record rankings with at least fifty kilometers completed.
We are now in Croatia for our first 7th Division race.
Wish us luck, we don't plan to need it though!
Jacques Villeneuve.
